The Jacobs Group™ Creative Travel presents ...

DESTINATION: SEATTLE
Cultural, cosmopolitan and refreshingly laid-back, Seattle is one of our favorite West Coast destinations, with the Space Needle, Mount Rainer, and the picturesque waters of Puget Sound providing a gorgeous backdrop to the city's many cultural treasures.
While exploring the region's rich legacy of glass is reason enough to visit, most of our tours make sure not to miss the recent expansion of the Seattle Art Museum, its sister Olympic Sculpture Park along the downtown waterfront, and the vibrant contemporary art installations at Western Bridge, the Henry Art Gallery at the University of Washington, and galleries in Pioneer Square.

GLASS ART IN SEATTLE
Over the last thirty-five years, Seattle and the Northwest have become known for contributions to the Studio Glass Movement, largely due in part to the vision of Dale Chihuly and the Pilchuck Glass School, which Chihuly co-founded in 1971 with art patrons John H. Hauberg and Anne Gould Hauberg.
Past Seattle tours have included special visits to the Chihuly Studio; tours and demonstrations with local glass artists such as Dante Marioni, Joey Kirkpatrick and Flora Mace, and many others; and private tours of the picturesque Pilchuck Glass Campus in Stanwood.

Of course no visit to Seattle would be complete without venturing to the Museum of Glass in Chihuly's nearby hometown of Tacoma, where visitors walk down to the museum's entrance on the waterfront via the breathtaking Chihuly Bridge of Glass, a display of color and form soaring seventy feet into the air.
