We are very excited to announce a Spring tour of the New York Art scene – one of the few tours we will be offering in 2010 to individuals.

This tour will provide an immersive survey of contemporary art in New York City, from uptown museums and blue–chip galleries in Chelsea and SoHo, to alternative art spaces and emerging art neighborhoods in the Lower East Side, Long Island City and Brooklyn. Our trip has been designed especially for younger arts patrons, and is scheduled to coincide with the Armory Show and the 2010 Whitney Biennial, two New York institutions that document leading trends in contemporary art.

The Armory Show is America’s leading fine art fair devoted to the most important art of the 20th and 21st centuries – in its eleven years, the fair has truly become an international institution, as artists, galleries, collectors, critics and curators from all over the world make New York their destination during Armory Arts Week. Our group will be granted VIP credentials during this week, with access to a whirlwind schedule of openings, parties and receptions throughout the city that will be announced in the month prior to the fair.

We’ll also take a tour of the 2010 Whitney Biennial. Curated by Francesco Bonami and Gary Carrion–Murayari, the Whitney’s signature panoramic survey of the latest in American art is the 75th annual program, and is sure to provide an extensive look of contemporary artmaking at a moment of profound global turbulence. To keep this trip accessible to a broad range of collectors, we are offering an ‘a la carte’ tour package which includes all activities, admissions, guides and a number of cocktail events throughout the city. Feel free to crash with family and friends, or take advantage of a special rate at the Hudson – one of our favorite hotels in the city, who have a fantastic rate through our travel partner Turon Travel. Rather than busses, we’ll use taxis and the subway to get around the city, adding a bit of adventure and cool to packaged group travel. And of course, we’ll try to program some free–time each day (and night) for you to explore the city!
