Spring has definitely sprung at The Jacobs Group! We just returned from Seattle with a large group of collectors from the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, where we enjoyed extremely special studio visits with the Chihuly Studio and Dante Marioni; toured the new Seattle Art Museum expansion and the Tacoma Museum of Glass, previewed native-Texan Dario Robleto's breathtaking exhibition at the Frye; visited a few of the top private collections in the Seattle area, and said goodbye over the vistas of the Olympic Sculpture Park. There was something truly for everyone on the trip, and inspired us to launch a regional set of weekend trips to Seattle/Tacoma for individual collectors this summer and fall. Stay tuned for details!
This week we depart for the sunny skies of Marfa, TX with Stuart Horodner and the Atlanta Contemporary, for visits with Ballroom Marfa, inde/jacobs and exhibitions2d; to see the new work of artists Jeff Elrod, David Hirishi, and recent Guggenheim honoree Erika Blumenfeld; enjoy in-depth exploration of the Chinati Foundation and Donald Judd's private spaces. We might even catch a glimpse of the mysterious Marfa lights; we're all anxious to see whether this is truly a natural phenomenon of legend, or just a good excuse to drink wine under the stars!
Next month, we'll welcome the Museum of Arts & Design for an exploration of Allied Works Architecture and Glass Art in Seattle, followed by a brief mini-sabbatical by founder/director Jennifer Jacobs as she participates in the Sotheby's Summer Institute.
What does all this activity mean? Our upcoming individual tours are garnering lots of interest, so don't miss out on these special opportunities to travel behind the scenes in small group
“escorted tours” (16 and under) and individual collectors packages to upcoming art fairs and festivals.
